the Glasgow Guitar Teaching Studio in the Hidden Lane, Glasgow

Take guitar lessons in Glasgow from a dedicated teaching studio in the west end. My name is Paul Tasker, and I have over 25 years experience of playing and teaching including 20 years playing in international touring bands.  I record and play music and recently released an instrumental album called ‘Tierra Quemada‘ where I play fingerstyle guitar and clawhammer banjo  If there’s anything you’d like to know that’s not mentioned on this site, please get in touch.

I started my teaching business in 2009 based from a studio  in the Hidden Lane in the west end of Glasgow, where it remains today. I offer both in person and online lessons.  Previously I’ve been an in house tutor at various rehearsal rooms around Scotland and for the musicworks programme at the RSAMD (now the Conservertoire of Scotland)

I’ve taught hundreds of people to play the guitar,  from complete beginners all the way through.  Previous students have gone onto successful careers in the music business with recording contracts and appearances on the main stage of big festivals.

Learning from an experienced touring musician and teacher will turn the learning curve into a gentle slope.  In addition there’s occasional workshops from touring guitarists  and monthly sessions (when circumstances allow) with the opportunity to jam and play a few songs.

For the third year, two of Scotland’s foremost acoustic guitarists, Simon Kempston (‘a master of fingerstyle guitar’ (Scotsman)) and Paul Tasker (‘one of the leading guitarists of his generation’ (Maverick)) combine their unique talents to present their new, original instrumental works together at the edinburgh Fringe. An eclectic show crammed with incredible music, join the virtuosic duo as they weave a fascinating journey from Jansch to Knopfler, Segovia to Travis and all places in between. An essential show not to be missed by any lover of the guitar, this is a rare opportunity to see two prodigious guitarists up close.
